About MaryAnn Barry
I started taking photos when I was 12 years old with a camera that cost about $1.99. Sadly on a family vacation in St. Louis, I accidentally left my camera in the back window of the car and found it had melted in the hot sun. I was devastated. To console me, my older cousins brought me to a store where I purchased my first flash camera, a Kodak World’s Fair camera. Since then, I haven’t stopped snapping pictures.
I really started getting serious about my photography in the past three years, photographing everything from festive parties in our community to gorgeous scenery from the back of my husband’s Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Ultimately, I have discovered that my favorite subjects are provided by nature: wildlife, bodies of water and flowers.
Today my photo work is displayed in several public venues in central Florida. Entering photo competitions has added more recognition and awards and further fueled my passion to be a photographer.
My camera is almost a permanent attachment. I very rarely leave home without it because I never know what photographic opportunity may arise.
I am happy to report that I have sold some of my prints on both Fine Art America and elsewhere since I originally joined Fine Art America. I also was awarded Photographer of the Year - 2013 from my local camera club.
